CoinSpot Mobile App - How to Enable Biometric Logins

Biometric Logins are available to all CoinSpot users for an extra layer of security and convenience. 

So what are Biometric Logins? The Biometric Logins security feature allows users to access their CoinSpot account using their physical characteristics to identify themselves. Two of the most common Biometric Login methods are via Fingerprint and Facial Recognition. This security feature is only able to be enabled on the CoinSpot mobile App.

• How to enable Biometric Logins on the CoinSpot Mobile App

To set up Biometric Logins for your CoinSpot account you will need the following enabled:

• App Based 2FA⭑ enabled on your CoinSpot account.
• Biometrics enabled on your mobile device system settings.

⭑ If you currently do not have App based 2FA enabled for your CoinSpot account, please have a read of our How to set up 2FA article.

Please follow the instructions provided below to enable Biometrics Logins on your mobile device.

How to enable Biometrics on your mobile device settings

If you do not have fingerprint or Touch ID/Face ID enabled on your mobile device, please ensure that this is set up before enabling Biometric Logins for your CoinSpot account.
If you already have Fingerprint or Touch ID/Face ID enabled, please skip to Enabling Biometrics on the CoinSpot Mobile App

Android Devices

1.  Tap on the ‘Gear Icon’.

2. Press on the ‘Magnifying Glass’.

3. Search up Fingerprints⁽¹⁾ & select Fingerprints⁽²⁾.

4. Tap on ‘Fingerprints - Add your fingerprints’.

5. Follow the prompts displayed on your mobile device. It will instruct you to adjust your fingerprint position for a full scan.

6. Congratulations, you have now successfully enabled fingerprint Biometric Logins on your Android device.

iOS Devices

Depending on your iOS Device, you will only be able to use Touch ID or Face ID. We have provided users with a guide to set up Touch ID and Face ID in this instance.

Touch ID

1. Navigate to the Apple ‘Settings App’.

2. Locate ‘Touch ID & Passcode’.

Depending on your iOS version, this may also be called Passcode & Fingerprint instead.

3. Locate the ‘Fingerprints’ heading along with ‘Add a Fingerprint…’.

4. Follow the instructions displayed on your mobile device.

5. Congratulations! You have now successfully enabled Touch ID on your iPhone device.

Face ID

1. Navigate to the iPhone ‘Settings App’.

2. Locate ‘Face ID & Passcode’.

3. Tap on ‘Set up Face ID’.

4. Follow the instructions prompted on your screen.

5. Congratulations! You have now successfully enabled Face ID. You will know if it has been successfully enabled if it states ‘Reset Face ID’.

How to enable Biometric Logins on the CoinSpot Mobile App

1. Navigate to the Account Menu Icon .

2. Tap on ‘Security’.

3. Once on the Security page, select ‘Logging In’.

4.Tap on ‘Biometric Logins ’  to enable.

5. Congratulations, Biometric Logins have now been successfully enabled!
